Carbon Monoxide is a good album. I enjoyed it and also purchased the physical copy. BIZZY went off on the album, but I feel like he did not get aggressive enough. The album has a subdued feel to it and most of the producton by Blais sounds the same. The beats actually sound like an extension of each other. Most of the songs are two verses and short, supported by choruses to make them longer. I think Blais is a good producer, but he seems to be forcing this KRAYZIE BONE style. And of course, no one does KRAYZIE like the original beast. Blais also shows up in the background of a lot of these tracks, which could have been executed without him because BIZZY did I thing. I'm not sure if any one caught this, but Blais also samples/recycles KRAYZIE BONE's opening lines of "Look Into My Eyes" on "Remember What Eazy Said." For some reason, some people think KRAYZIE is featured on the album, but he's not; it's actually Blais who somewhat sounds like KRAYZIE. Honestly, it turned me off to some degree. Overall, I give the album a solid 8 out of 10. THE GIFT to this day, remains BIZZY's best solo album. This new release is up there though. What up Thug-Z?
You make some good valid points and i agree with you. Yes, the aggressiveness was not there, but that's okay. This was a laid back harmonic Bizzy which i love and can't complain about. I'll take this Bizzy any day over SIT Bizzy LMAO!!!
Blais is a nice producer and i have no problems with his production. Yes, i thought some tracks could have been dope without Blais singing in the background, but at the same time i don't mind. However, when he did repeat the "Look Into My Eyes" line like Krayzie that did too turn me off in some ways. Classic lines like that should not be touched let alone trying to sound like that person lol
Dope album. Guess we both gave it a 8/10
