So I remember when we were waiting for Chasing The Devil, of course we all had high hopes…it was Krayzie Bone, he spent over 10 years on the project (which was entirely a let down but thats a different topic)…but I remember hearing that he was gonna sample the song Cry Little Sister from the Lost Boys (1987) movie…which was a childhood favorite of mine and I always liked the song. I was really excited about it. I thought Krayzie remaking it was gonna be sick…and it really could’ve been! But he destroyed it (in a bad way). So I just heard this new remake and thought of how good it could’ve been if Krayzie was on something like this! The production difference is LIGHTYEARS apart. This makes “Hold On To Your Soul” sound like it was recorded in a porta potty, and the beat was made on a fisher proce key board. And the woman on Hold On To Your Soul did a terrible job (wasnt that Bobby Francis’s wife or some shit?)…that was horrible. Listen to her at the end of HOTYS (its litterally unbearable how awful she sounds…who thought that was ok to release? Seriously? Now the girl in THIS version kills it and sounds amazing. I think if Kray executed that song like these people did, it could’ve been some next level shit
Now listen to this trash -
SMH….this was a highly anticipated album (and supposedly his last at the time he was saying)…dude spend a decade on it…why do all of the songs sound like such crap?
