Damn I really wanna see Lay get back to where he used to be...I hate always shitting on him but im not gonna lie to myself, and this isnt good. I mean its not bad I guess but its def not good. His beats these days are trash...they all have that wack Thin-C vibe which is super soft and wack. Even the best of his beats, stuff like Rebirth and Debt To Society are average at best. Then Layzie’s lyrics are just so uninspired. He sounds like a regular Joe Shmo that wrote a quick rap at a party off the top of his head. Just listen to his rhymes...they’re just so basic and mothergoose like. Not that Bone was ever super lyrical but you know what I mean. Lay Lay used to be so nasty. Even after the 90’s, the music overall started falling off a bit, but Lay’s raps and flow were still up there. I like the positivity and if he doesnt wanna make hard songs im cool with that, but they gotta be good.
Imo Bizzy is the only one moving in the right direction right now. Never thought id ever say that but its true. Im more of a Krayzie fan but from the most recent clips im he’s been teasing us with on periscope, im not really feeling the direction he’s going besides a few songs but we’ll see when he actually puts something out...maybe he’ll surprise me. But Bizzy has had some decent sounding songs lately with good production. Im looking forward to hearing his upcoming projects. If they sound anything like he did on New Waves and his recent music...we should be in for a treat!
